Whitney Wheeler Babcock lived most of his life in Louisville. He served as head of the Kentucky Department of Tourism under Gov. John Y. Brown, Jr. and was co-owner of Babcock-Rickert Advertising. He married (1) in 1973, Barbara Anne Wilson (b.1953), daughter of Stanley E. (1928-) and Phyllis Hauck Wilson (1929-), of Louisville. Their daughters are Sabrah Rose, of Tampa, Fl., who married John Wilkerson, and their son is Jonah Wilkerson; Rebekah Gail, of Palm Harbor, Fl.; and Elizabeth Churchill Babcock, of Raeford, N.C., who married Ben Kayser, and their daughter is Grace Kayser. He married (2) in 1989, Elizabeth Jo Filiatreau, daughter of Joseph Bernard (1912-72) and Mabel Christeen McIntyre Filiatreau (1910-72), of Louisville.
