Alfred F. "Almo" Torres, 61, passed away Sept. 23, 2006 at Loma Linda. He was born July 5, 1945, in Loma Linda. Alfred had been a resident of Barstow for his entire life. He graduated from Barstow High School in 1963. He served in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1970 and was a Vietnam Veteran. Alfred worked for the Santa Fe Railroad for 42 years. Alfred loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and taking care of his green truck. Alfred is survived by his wife, Roseann; his children, Roxanne Mata, Yvonne Craine, Lisa Torres, Alicia Chavez and Anthony Torres, all of Barstow; parents, Esther and Frank Torres of Barstow; brother, Ron Torres of Lakewood; sister, Lynda Rodriguez of Barstow; grandchildren, Jonathan Mata, Arianna Craine and Daniel Craine all of Barstow; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
