KAREN SUE GRANT 64 of 4 Imperial St. Rouseville, PA died unexpectedly at her home this week.
- Born in Oil City, PA on Feb. 12, 1946 daughter of the late Everett Fitch Turner and Dorothy DeLong Turner.
- She attended Rouseville Elementary and was a1964 graduate of OCHS in the secretarial program. She followed with many post graduate courses in computer science
- Mrs. Grant was a former member of the Rouseville U. Methodist Church. She was blessed with a beautiful voice and enjoyed singing solo at Sunday Service.
- Her working career started in the catalog dept. at Sears in Oil City in the early 70's. She then went on to Eckerd's Drug Store in Oil City and at Womer's Pharmacy in Franklin. For a short time at the Cranberry Area School District office and at Blair Corp. in Franklin. In July of 1980 she started at the Wolf's Head Division Office of Pennzoil in Reno, where she was responsible for all the office procedures. She remained there until the facility was sold.
- Karen enjoyed cooking for her family , sewing and the companionship of her cat Misty. She had a generous heart and donated to numerous charities.
- She is survived by two sons James C. Swires and his friend Terri Smith of Hermitage and by William J. Swires of Rouseville. 2 granddaughters Brittany Swires Clark and her husband Matt and their daughters Kaitlyn and Kiley of Oil City and Tiffany Swires and friend Mike Hays and son Logan of Franklin. She is also survived by three sisters Patty Rode and Donna and Phil Sterner of Oil City and Jean and Willis Barris of Knox . Several nieces and nephews also survive.
- At her request she was cremated. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday in the Reinsel Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11:00 A.M. prior to the service . The Rev. Eric Reamer of the Oil City Free Christian Church will preside. Internment will take place at the convenience of the family. Memorials may be made to a charity of ones choice, Condolences may be sent at www.reinselfuneralhome.com.
