Glen Joseph Martin died unexpectedly the morning of May 18, 2020 at his home in Jasper, GA. He was 55 years old and was born on March 10, 1965 in Berkshire County, Massachusetts but Georgia has been his home for over 40 years.

You could always spot Glen-Bob in a crowd just by looking for his leather hat as he never left home without it. Known fondly as "Hobo" by family and friends Glen will be remembered most for his quick wit and sense of humor. There were numerous phone calls that started out with "Do you want to hear a joke?" which was always followed by his infectious laugh. There was never a somber gathering when Glen was present and no one in the family will ever be able to get through any holiday without missing the call that the Holiday Cartoon Special was on TV. Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, Rudolph, The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown and of course "Alice's Restaurant."

He loved the San Francisco 49ers, Notre Dame Fighting Irish and NASCAR. He also enjoyed rock and roll music, Saturday morning westerns, Saturday evening rummy with his wife, 2 am cookies and milk and sharing a Dr. Pepper with his "little brother" DJ. He and Pam loved the beach but said that the mountains called his name as he and his best friend, "Beautiful" liked riding around exploring North Georgia.

Glen had a warm and welcoming personality and if someone was down on their luck he would always be there to lend a helping hand. He never met a stranger and he always said "There are no problems, only solutions."

He always made time for family as this was his #1 priority. His niece, Brianna can attest to that as his loving guidance helped get her to the graduation finish line. He was a loyal husband, father, brother, friend and son. He called his mother every night to say good night.

Glen, is survived by his wife, Pamela; children, TJ and Britny, Tanner and Emma and Taylor as well as 2 grandchildren, Bentley and Lacey. He is also survived by his mother and father, Mary Ann and Daniel Spinney of Kennesaw; sisters and brothers, Jean Marie, Mike, Jeff, Julie, DJ and is predeceased by brothers, Chip and Larry.

He is also predeceased by his soul mate, Debra, and leaves behind several nieces and nephews.

A social distancing memorial gathering will be held outside on Sunday, May 31st from 12 to 3 at 1112 Canterbury Lane; Woodstock, GA 30188.
