Gordon Cook, 80, of Fishers Indiana, formerly of Markleville, passed away Thursday May 21, 2020 at his home. He was born on March 4, 1940 to Sam and Helen (Copeland) Cook.
He was a 1958 graduate of Wilkinson High School. Gordon was a member of both the New Castle and Anderson First Church of the Nazarene, where he was involved with music ministry and played the trumpet. He was an avid sports fan and loved Pontiac Cars. Gordon spent several winters in Scottsdale, Arizona where he attended the Barrett-Jackson auto auction. He was a farmer for many years and drove a school bus.
Gordon is survived by his wife of 59 years, Cheryl Cook; daughter, Lisa (Ron) Peckham of Greenfield; son, Gregg Cook of Greenwood; grandchildren, Bryan Peckham of Taipei Taiwan, Ana-Elizabeth and Carissa-Anne Cook of Greenwood.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandparents, Scott and Hazel Copeland and Maude and Elmer Cook.
Services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday May 26, 2020 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle, with Rev. Samuel S. Barber officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition. Memorial contributions may be given to the Central Church of the Nazarene, 12600 W. 87th Parkway, Lenexa, KS, 66215. The family has requested that all attendees please wear a mask.
