Charles D. Stackhouse III, 73, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2020, at Clark Memorial Hospital. He was born on March 13, 1947.
He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He worked at American Standard and Lear Corp. He was a member of Teamsters Local #89. He was a devoted Democrat.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years Terry Stackhouse of Jeffersonville, IN; sons Wesley Y. Stackhouse (April) of Salem, IN, and Rylan Dyer Stackhouse (Emma) of Henryville, IN; daughter Tiffany Stackhouse-Horn (Justin) of Jeffersonville, IN; sister Virginia E. Peck and her husband Robert who was Charles’ Riding Buddy of Jeffersonville, IN; Harvey Stackhouse (Lynnette) of WA; sister-in-law Brenda Stackhouse of Folly Beach, SC; “other-daughter” Stacy Coleman (David) of Jeffersonville, IN; grandchildren Yale Stackhouse, Angel Stackhouse, Lilly Stackhouse, Charlee Horn, Morgan Horn, Jameson Stackhouse, Jackson Stackhouse, Julia Christi and Clayton Christi; friends Mollie and Calvin Finner of Jeffersonville, IN.
He is preceded in death by his parents Charles Stackhouse and Virginia Stackhouse; brother Larry Stackhouse; niece Marcia Phelps.
A Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2020, at 6:00 p.m. at E.M. Coots’ Sons Funeral Home with cremation to follow. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until the service.
