Margaret Taylor Knox Malone, age 91 of Deweyville, Texas passed away peacefully on 21 May 2020 in Nacogdoches, Texas. Born in Hunt, Texas on 5 May 1929, she was the daughter of Virney James Taylor and Hilda Clara Brandt.

Visitation is scheduled for 27 May from 5-8 PM at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange, Texas. Services will be held at 2:00 PM on 28 May 2020 at Claybar Funeral Home. Officiating will be Pastor Dale Lee of Cowboy Church of Orange County. Burial will follow at Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery in West Orange.

She graduated high school in Borne and beauty school in San Antonio. Margaret was Circulation Manager of The Orange Leader newspaper for many years, where she was known to drive a forklift in high heels. "Paper Doll" was her CB handle, her e-mail address was "foxylady".

Margaret was a lifetime member of VFW Post 2775 Ladies Auxiliary, where she served as secretary/treasury, and other district and state positions throughout the years. Her accomplishments were many, she was awarded the 2018 Certificate Of Appreciation by the Veterans of Foreign Wars as a Gold Circle member for her faithful support of America's deserving veterans and their families. Margaret was involved with the Disabled American Veterans and American Legion and was instrumental in erecting a memorial to local veterans.

She was a sixth generation Texan, a proud member of The Daughters of The Republic of Texas and the Former Texas Rangers Association. Her grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great grandfather were Texas Rangers. 

She became a member of Cowboy Church of Orange County, which she dearly loved. She was baptized there on 28 Aug 2011 by Pastor Dale Lee.

Preceded in death by her parents, brother Eugene Taylor, spouses Earl Knox and Gird Malone, daughter Linda Guillory, great granddaughter Anna May Knox and great grandson Ian Marion Mitchell.

Margaret's greatest joy in life was her 8 children. She is survived by her brother Neal Taylor and wife Carolyn, and her loving children; son Dwayne Knox and wife Fay of Swain, Arkansas; son Brandon Lee Knox and wife Carrie Of Green Creek, North Carolina; daughter Wanda and husband Jimmy Ragsdale Sr. of Nacogdoches, Texas; son John David Knox and wife Sally of Deweyville, Texas; son Phillip Knox and wife Michele of Orange, Texas; daughter Hilda and husband Gary Bromley of Zavalla, Texas; daughter Dana and husband Jay Jordan of Orangefield, Texas. She is also survived by her loving niece Elizabeth and husband Lee Houghton, 17 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren, all of whom she loved and deeply touched.

Margaret was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother to her family. She was always sharing her wit and wisdom with everyone she met. Her hands were never still. Always active in community affairs her last office was President of the Stallings Court Residents Council. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful caregivers at Senior Care of Stallings Court and Hospice in the Pines for the tender care they gave Margaret in her time of need.
