She is understood to have been born in or near the town of Baluczyn in the province of Galicia in the then Austrian Empire. Most probable modern reference: Baluchyn, Lviv, Ukraine (49.8541516,24.5531152)

She came to Canada aboard the SS Mount Royal at the age of 16 in about May of 1909 with her already large birth family.

She married "Joseph Rachlucki" on September 22, 1910 in Winnipeg, MB. (MB Marriage Registration #1910,002789 as "Joseph Rachlicki" and "Pelagia Klos")
