Beloved wife of the late Joseph Kosowski (1990), Helen will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her two sons and their spouses, and six grandchildren.
She is survived by her sister and her brother and was predeceased by her siblings, Beatrice, Frank, Victoria and Stanley.
Born on the family farm near Inwood, MB, on February 15, 1917, Helen came to Winnipeg in 1937 where she met Joseph and married in 1940. She worked at various jobs until her two sons were born, at which time she became a full-time mother.
She was a loving grandmother and a most trusted and reliable babysitter for all her grandchildren. She cared and worried dearly about everyone close to her. Throughout her 90 years, Helen lived a full and active live. She was always devoted to her family.
She enjoyed knitting afghans for each grandchild. She was famous for bestowing homemade food packages on her family. She enjoyed growing her tomatoes, playing bingo and other activities at the Hedges where she lived the last five years.
Helen was a member of St. Mary's Polish National Catholic Church for 60 years where she attended regularly, right to the very day that she was admitted to the hospital.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, August 21 at 10:30 a.m. (viewing at 10:00 a.m.) at St. Mary's Polish National Catholic Church, 361 Burrows Ave., with Very Rev. Monsignor Wesley Cwieka officiating. Interment will follow in the Polish National Cemetery.
