Gary Don Endsley died in his home in Fort Mohave, AZ the evening of April 9, 2020 of heart disease.
A true man of numbers until the very end, he was born 9/9/44 (two pair) in Chickasha, Oklahoma to Erman Endsley and Leota Taylor. He was the youngest of three and is preceded in death by his two siblings, Carole Endsley Statton And Erman Charles Endsley.
He graduated from Tuttle High School in 1962 and joined the US Air Force in 1966, serving his country during the Vietnam War and flew monthly to the Thai-land/Laos border to maintain the communication grid.
He was a superior ball player, and according to the season could be found playing football or baseball as well as watching.
His love for the Boston Red Sox was unparalleled and he could not go without watching all University of Oklahoma sports, even being known to schedule his plans around OU women's basketball games.
Gary's life took him all over the United States. He visited 48 states during his epic road trips and was always traveling between California, New Mexico and Oklahoma, his true home.
A consummate people person, his numerous careers included selling cars, light-bulbs and wholesale food distribution with Ben E. Keith.
Being around food, kitchens, restaurants and clubs was second nature to Gary and he fondly told stories of pouring beer in his parent's restaurant at a very young age.
In retirement, he maintained booths at shows selling coins, firearms and collectibles.
His family and friend circle was large and tight knit stemming from his parents large presence in the community and restaurant and later by his great Aunt Beatrice and Uncle Clyde Janssen's influence.
He is survived by his daughter, Stacy Kaye of Portland, Oregon and ex wife, Cynthia Kay. He leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
A memorial is tentatively scheduled for Sept. 9, 2020 at NewCastle Methodist Church Fellowship Hall with a procession immediately after to Liberty Cemetery, Pocasset, OK.
