Barney B. Webb, Brother of Local Attorney, Is Dead

Barney B. Webb, 59 of San Antonio, Tex., died at 1:30 o'clock this morning at the home of his brother, Charles Webb, former state's attorney, at 104 North Pennsylvania Avenue.

Mr. Webb had been employed as a checker on a government construction job at Little Rock. He came to his brother's home two months ago. Heart disease was given as the cause of death. Mr. Webb was born in Franklin County near Benton, February 3, 1883, and was a son of the late William R. and Rebecca Webb, nee Mooneyham, both natives of Franklin County He married Mary Rogers in East St. Louis about 30 years ago.

Besides his widow he is survived by six children: Barney Jr., manager of a chain store at Louisville, Ky., and Mrs. Mary Jane Berry, Miss June Webb, Mrs. Jean Wood and Charles J. and Allen Webb, all of San Antonio.

He also leaves three brothers and four sisters: Charles Webb, North Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmer Webb, Houston, Tex., Richard Webb, East St. Louis, Mrs. Louise Hill, Hilltop Drive, Mrs. Sally Johnson, Alexandria, La., Mrs. Amanda Phillips, Collinsville, and Miss Rebecca Webb, 104 North Pennsylvania Avenue. Mrs. Hill is the mother of Mrs. M. E. Bruce, wife of the assistant superintendent of schools In East St. Louis, and Mrs. Phillips is the mother of Assistant State's Attorney Wendell J. Phillips.

A brother, Dan Webb, former city Attorney of East St. Louis, died last October 1 at Iowa City, Ia.

Funeral services at 1:30 p. m. Thursday, April 16, from Pete Gaerdner Funeral Home to Walnut Hill Cemetery.
