Jonathan Clay Moore, age 23, of Weaverville, died unexpectedly, Wednesday, May 20, 2020.

Jonathan was born April 23, 1997 in Buncombe County. He was a 2015 graduate of North Buncombe High School where he played on the golf team and was president of his senior class. Jonathan graduated in December 2019 from Campbell University. He was employed as an Assistant Professional at The Country Club of Sapphire Valley. Jonathan was a friend to everyone he met. He had a passion for golf, snowboarding and fishing. He loved spending time with his friends and family.

Surviving are his mother, Sandra Allen Moore of Weaverville; father, Michael Moore of Asheville; sister, Brittany Moore Earl and husband Tyler of Pageland, SC; maternal grandmother, Alline Allen and husband Bobby of Weaverville; paternal grandmother, Barbara Moore of Asheville; aunts, Judy Reid and husband John, and Debbie Manley and husband Richard of Fairview; uncles, Rick Moore and Tim Moore both of Candler; and cousins, Emily Reid, Kyle Reid, and Sarah Moore.

A private memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 25, 2020 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville. Rev. Clark Henderson will officiate.

The family will receive friends 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Monday, May 25, 2019 at the funeral home.
