MAXINE'S OBITUARY
Mrs. Maxine “Peeps” Chadock Henderson, age 88, of Franklin, WV, formerly of Petersburg, WV, passed away at Pendleton Manor in Franklin, WV, on May 16, 2020. Maxine was born in Pekin, IL, on February 11, 1932, the daughter of the late Martin Luther Chadock and the late Laura Belle Richardson Chadock. Maxine was married to Bobby Joe Smith and Howard C. Henderson who both preceded her in death.

A Methodist by faith, she was a member of Bethel Chapel United Methodist Church in Dutchman, WV. Maxine graduated from Harrisville High School, attended Glenville State and received her Master’s Degree in Education from West Virginia University. She taught Kindergarten and first grade in Cincinnati, OH, San Diego, CA, Washington DC and returned to Lewis County, WV to finish up her teaching career and retire in her beloved WV. She was an avid reader and a dedicated Mountaineer Fan. She was a loving caregiver to both of her husbands, her mother, and her brother.

In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by: one sister, and two brothers. Surviving are: her sister, Rosalie Hargens of Los Vegas, NV; her brother, Gerald Chadock of Petersburg, WV; and many loving nieces and nephews.

In honoring Maxine's wishes, her body has been donated to Human Gift Registry of West Virginia University and there will be no calling hours or services. Gifts of remembrance can be made to Burlington United Methodist Family Services Inc. in Burlington, WV.
