MICHAEL HOWARD ‘MIKEY’ MEEKS, age 59, died Wednesday, May 20, 2020, at his home in Charleston.
Born June 10, 1960, at Wyatt, to the late Marshall Lee Meeks and Jessie Ann Thurman Graham, he had lived in Charleston most of his life and had worked at Reeves Boomland, Starks Manufacturing Company and McClain’s Food Center. He loved music and playing his guitar after teaching himself to play by ear. He had also served in the Missouri National Guard. Mikey loved his kids and grandbabies.
Surviving are his children, Jennifer (Chelsea) Singleton of Piggott, AR; David Earl (Daniell) Meeks of Paducah, KY; Michael Dale (Jessica) Meeks of Charleston and Jeannie (Shawn) Billington of Oran; his brother, Marcus Teague of Charleston; his sisters, Retha Graham (David) Cohen of Diehlstadt and Marsha Martin of Imperial; 14 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
In addition to his father and mother, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Carroll (Jake) Graham; his brothers, Marshall Dale (Bad Bill) Meeks and David Lee Graham and his sister, Joyce Ellen Thurman.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 26, 2020, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Dewayne Kirkpatrick and Jack Hargraves will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Anniston Cemetery under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.
Pallbearers will be his nephews and great nephews.
