Tommy Darrell Hopkins, 71, of Auxvasse, Missouri passed away of natural causes, on Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at University Hospital in Columbia.
He was born on July 19, 1948 in Maryville, Missouri; a son of the late Vincent and Margaret (Harbin) Hopkins.
Tommy attended and graduated from Rock Port High School. He attended college at Northwest Missouri State and Tarkio College where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.
Tommy was the director of grain inspection and warehousing for the Missouri Department of Agriculture. He also bred Angus and started Hopkins High Hill Angus. Tommy then founded Accent Mortgage Professionals, where he worked until retirement.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge.
Tommy loved sports and coaching, and he was very involved with raising his sons as their best coach and cheerleader.
He loved listening to music and was always a season ticket holder for Mizzou Athletics.
He is survived by his sons: Nick Hopkins M.D. and Grant Hopkins of Jefferson City.
Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 23, 2020, at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors.
