He graduated from Muleshoe High School in 1957, and then moved to Amarillo, TX. He worked for Meckesson right out of high school and then took a job with the United States Postal Service where he worked for 36 years, and there met the love of his life, Helen. They were married July 12, 1970.
Floyd was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Helen Jones, and their son David; his parents; and his brothers, Sam and Freddie.
He is survived by his granddaughters, Lacy Seymore and her husband Matthew, and their four children, Mattie Grace, Meghan, Matthew Ky and Mason, of Littlefield, TX, and Amanda Hiatt of Jacksonville, FL; his niece, Venus True and husband Lonnie, of Amarillo; brothers-in-law, Richard Winters and wife Laverne, of Amarillo, and Jimmy Lacy, of Seattle, Washington, two sisters-in-law, Tammy Lacy of Amarillo, and Lillian Carnahan and husband Jay, of Florida; his brother, Harold Jones and wife Delores, of Amarillo; nieces, Shirley and Janet, of Amarillo; nephew, Jerry, of Amarillo; great-nieces, Ashley and Staysha, both of Amarillo; a cousin, Claude Jones, of Paris, TX; and several other nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 A.M., Friday, May 22, 2020, at Llano Cemetery with Tanner Wilson and Terry Sanders officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, Amarillo.
