Glenn Lee Oxner, 66, of Austin, AR, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2020. He was born December 3, 1953 in Holly Grove, Arkansas to the late William Lester Oxner and Sarah Ella Brown Oxner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Jerry L. Oxner and Rickey G. Oxner.
Glenn was raised in a loving close-knit Christian home with his parents and four brothers. He graduated from Barton High School and went to Technical School in Hot Springs, Arkansas. He supported his wife Martha, while she was in college and eventually opened his own business, Oxner Appliance Repair. He enjoyed his job and working with customers. Because his customers trusted him and knew they could depend on him, Glenn's business prospered. Glenn instilled the same strong work ethic he had into his children and taught them the value of helping others. He was also a man of little words, but was respected and loved throughout his family and community. He returned to church later in life and became an active member at Trenton Baptist Church. His only regret, that he mentioned every Sunday, was that he didn't raise his children in church like he and his wife were raised. He enjoyed fishing on Old Town Lake, cooking fried chicken, going to church and spending quality time with his family and friends.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Martha, children, Karen (Mike) Wright, Jody (Vicki) Boyett and CHris (DeAnna) Oxner; his grandchildren Erin, Chase, Kyndell, Kylie, Anna, Cody, Evan and Berkley; six great-grandchildren with one on the way; brother Donald Oxner and Troy (Norma) Oxner, as well as many friends who will miss him greatly.
Graveside services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, May 23, 2020 at LaGrange Cemetery in LaGrange, Arkansas. Arrangements by Moore's Cabot Funeral Home.
