Robert's second wife's name was Milly Fowler, with whom he had one child (Jeter) but in the early 1820s she left and eventually went to Wayne Co., TN taking baby Jeter with her.
In the mid 1820s, Robert formed a common-law type marriage with Rachel Hinton and they had (per LDS Equity papers & 1850 census) seven to nine children

Robert died in September 1851 and was upwards of 80 years of age. Descendants of S. Walker Boyd (1875-1944) who lived along Piney Creek Rd off Earls Bridge Rd in the 1st quarter of the 20th century, stated that its believed that Robert was buried in what they called the Boyd Cemetery (called 'Boyd Family Cemetery on Pickens cemetery websites) which was shortly north of the east side of Heavens Way. Per a descendant and local residence there were 22 small markers in cemetery before its desecration in the 1970s.
