Marie Cheatham, 94, of Anderson, passed away May 16 at her daughter, Sharon's, residence. Marie was born in Sandgap, Kentucky, April 7, 1926, the daughter of the late Jane (Gabbard) and Elmer Clemmons.
She lived and was educated at the Louisville, Kentucky, Masonic Home where she was an outstanding athlete in field hockey. Her awards are still on display at the home.
Marie was retired after 38 years from Ford Aerospace in Connersville, where she was an inspector.
Marie is survived by daughters, Sharon K. Bowers, of Anderson, and Brenda Lee "Bird" (Ross) Grimsley, of Owings Mills, Maryland; son, Michael W. (Tar)i Worrell, of Middletown; stepdaughters, Nina (Penny) Draper, of Indianapolis; and Renee (Mick) Waltz, of Dayton, Ohio; and stepson, James (Kim) Cheatham, of Brookville, Ohio. She also is survived by 11 grandchildren.
She was preceded by her three husbands, Homer Worrell, Don Draper and James Cheatham; daughter, Janie Mitchell; two sisters and two brothers.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, May 21, 2020, at Arlington East Hill, with Howard Bullard of Ben Davis Christian Church officiating. Public visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday May 20, 2020, at Todd Funeral Centre & Crematory.
