Services for Marvin Franklin Carroll will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 22 at Wilda Baptist Church in Wilda, Louisiana with Rev. Joey Rudisill and Sonny Murphy officiating.

Interment will follow at Cotile Baptist Cemetery under the direction of White Oaks, Alexandria.

Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.

Marvin Carroll, 80, passed into eternity with Jesus Christ on Sunday, May 17, 2020.

Marvin was born on July 26, 1939 in Boyce, Louisiana to Rodney and Rabie Carroll.

He graduated from Boyce High School and began working at Holsum Bakery until he accepted a position with T. L. James in Ruston, Louisiana. He was also a retired Reserve Deputy with the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Department and an active volunteer for 9 years with the Cotile Volunteer Fire Department where he received the Firefighter of the Year award in 2014.

Marvin was an active member of the Cotile community and loved farming. He was humble, loving and kind and often volunteered to help others in need. One of his most memorable experiences was serving with the Louisiana Baptist Disaster Relief in Moore, Oklahoma in 2013.

Marvin is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Elwood Carroll and Ralph Carroll.

Marvin is survived by his wife of 56 years, Eddie Jane (McDaniel) Carroll, daughter Paula (Carroll) Mitchell (Dewayne) of Dodson, Louisiana and son Randall Carroll (Susan) of Bentonville, Arkansas. Grandchildren include Adrian Chandler (Anna), Christopher Chandler (Michelle), Torie Chandler, Tiffany Evans, Lane Evans, Chase Mitchell, Emily Carroll and Madison Carroll. Brothers Wilmer Carroll (Elaine) of Kerrville, Texas, Lloyd Carroll of Freeport, Texas and Richard Carroll (Sheryl) of Lugoff, South Carolina; sisters Margie Carroll Heard of San Antonio, Texas and Ruth Marchand (Alex) of Shreveport, Louisiana. Marvin had numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Pallbearers are Nick Bollinger, Roger Ramos, Josh Harper, Adrian Chandler, Chase Mitchell and Lynn Russell. Honorary pallbearers are Christopher Chandler, Tiffany Evans, Laura Ramos, Trey Harper, Chris Morrison, Trinity Morrison, Reuben Ramos, Wilmer Carroll, Lloyd Carroll, Richard Carroll and Chad Carroll.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cotile Volunteer Fire Department, 55 Parker Road, Boyce, Louisiana 71409.
