Fred L. Stephens, age 78 of Winchester, passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Franklin County on June 23, 1941 to the late R.L. and Lora (Gaddie) Stephens. Fred’s first job was at Campbell & Dan in Tullahoma. He then worked at Wilton Corporation and later Shaw Industries until his retirement in 2015. Fred enjoyed deer hunting, gardening, and watching westerns on television. He will be remembered for being a hard-worker and for his strong-willed and loving nature. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Cordell Stephens. Fred is survived by his loving wife of twenty-six years, Earlene Bracken Stephens of Winchester; children, Sandra (John) Springfield of Summerville, South Carolina, Anthony “Tony” Stephens of Belvidere, and Crystal (Frankie) Thackerson of Winchester; grandchildren, Eandra, Tasha, Blake, Andrea, Amber, Jasmine, and Payton; great-grandchildren, Johnathan, Caroline, Nickolas, Ella, Emma, Logan, Liam, and Isabella; step-great-granddaughter, Hannah; and sisters, Frances (Jerry) Stewart of Decherd, and Joyce (Raymond) Steele of Belvidere. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 21, 2020 in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with Rev.
