She was second of four children and the only girl born to Russell and Marie Parrish. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Mount Union College when she was 20. In the late 1940’s she met and married Carl Jordan of Ashland, OH. She was a stay at home mom and church volunteer. In the 1990’s she was instrumental in starting Stephen Ministries, an outreach program, at Church of the Master United Methodist Church in Westerville. In her early 40’s she took classes at Otterbein University to obtain her elementary teaching certification and eventually earned a Master’s in Education from Ohio State University. She began teaching elementary students with Westerville City Schools and spent more than 20 years teaching at Cherrington Elementary School. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two of her brothers, Arthur and Marvin Parrish. She is survived by her daughters, Karen Ash (Joe), Myra Clark (Scott) and Shirley Jordan (Randy Harrington); grandchildren, Richard Ash (Halyley), Heidi Ritenour (Nick), Suzanne Ash, Emily Reilly (Tyler), Whitney Harrington and Lee Harrington; great grandchildren, Sophie, Laynie, and Quincie Ash and Abigail and Carter Ritenour; brother, Floyd Parrish; sister in law Margie Parrish.
