A native of Spartanburg County, daughter of the late Wofford Perry and Lucile Anderson Atkins, she was a retired employee of Social Security Administration.
Surviving are two daughters, Vicki Smith (Barry) of Georgia and Lisa Cheek (Randy) of Six Mile; a sister, Barbara Ashley (Milton) of Spartanburg; four grandchildren, Jason Smith (Mandy), Casey Smith (Dawn), Molly Gordon (Travis) and Randall Cheek (Katie); eight great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Mary Evans of Greenville; and many loving nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by one daughter, Mary Louise Mitchell, two brothers, F. Hugh Atkins (Nettie) and Ray Atkins (Joyce).
A private graveside service will be held at Wood Memorial Park.
