Frances Steele, 95, of Pensacola, FL. died May 18, 2020. She was born in Bolivar, TN on June 23, 1924. University of Tennessee at Knoxville was her alma mater where she received degrees in Home Economics and Education. During her life, she used both degrees. Frances was an excellent cook, seamstress, and homemaker who raised three children. She also found time to teach high school chemistry and biology. Most of her life was spent living in the towns of Bolivar, Waverly, and Centerville, TN, moving as her husband changed jobs. Upon retirement, the couple moved to Florida, living in Sebring, Gulf Breeze, and Pensacola. Frances spent her free time enjoying reading and the hobby, counted cross stitch. Beautiful cross stitch "paintings" adorn her home and attest to her needlework skills. In her own words, she "had a good life," and she worked to make sure the family she loved had one as well.

Frances is preceded in death by her parents, Mattie Lou and Rob Wood Moore; her two brothers, Rob and David and her beloved husband Henry (Hank) Steele.

She is survived by her brother, Morgan Moore of Lynchburg, Va., and three children, Barbara Whaley (Mike) of Pensacola, Henry Arnold Steele (Jessica) of Topanga Canyon, CA and Martha Steele of Huntsville, AL., as well as five grandchildren, Jon Perreault, Elaine Perreault, Jason Perreault, Iris Steele, and Nathan Steele.

Interment will be at Barrancas National Cemetery.

A special thanks to caregiver, Jeanette Myers who has given love and support to the Steele family for over 16 years. Additional thanks go to caregivers Brenda Matchett and Kegley's Quality Caregivers. STEELE, MARY FRANCES
