Lawrence A. Harrison, Sr., 92 of Murrells Inlet, SC and Winchester, VA passed away peacefully with immediate family on the 2nd day of October 2019. Born October 28, 1926 in Loudoun County VA, he was the son of Walter Harrison and Olla Beavers-Harrison. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Vivian Harrison and only son Lawrence A. Harrison, Jr. He is survived by one granddaughter, Lisa Harrison-Payne, her spouse M. Brett Payne, great-grandson Kaelen Payne, two sisters, Audrey Ward and Edna Munddiman, four sisters-in-law, Nancy Rollins, Betty Marini, Judy Bear and Cheryl Ellefson, and many friends he would call family. Lawrence was honorably discharged from the United States Navy in June of 1946 after serving on 3 different ships in the Pacific and American theaters during World War 2. He was a railway enthusiast and enjoyed many hours of meticulous work on his train set. Lawrence was a man of few words but when he did speak his words were both witty and humorous. He will be remembered as a loving spouse, father, grandparent and great friend. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Tuesday October 8th 2019 at Adams Green Funeral Home in Herndon VA. Services will follow at 11:00 AM with Pastor Scott Orndorff officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to RedRover.
