Donald E. Dennis, 95, of Linton, Indiana, went to Heaven on Saturday, May 16 at Greene County General Hospital. He was born on March 26, 1925 in Linton to James M. and Axie Marie (Heaton) Dennis. Don married the love of his life, Juanita F. (Chambers) Dennis on June 1, 1946.

Don was a US Navy, World War II veteran. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, American Legion Post #22, the UMWA, was a member and past Exalted Ruler of BPO Elks #866. Don retired on September 1, 1987 with 15 years’ service at General Electric and 25 years’ service as a coal miner at Peabody and various other mines.

Family left to cherish the memory of Don include: one daughter, Nancy Sparks of Bloomington; grandchildren, Dennis Martin of Dugger and Stacey (Tim) Huse of Louisville, KY; great-grandchildren, Zachary, Harrison and Jackson Huse. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Don was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife, Juanita Dennis; four brothers and three sisters.

Private family graveside services are scheduled for 1:00 PM on Thursday, May 21, 2020 at Dugger Cemetery with Pastor John Riker officiating. Military graveside rites will be provided by American Legion Post #22. Those wishing to join the procession to the cemetery may meet at the funeral home at 12:30 PM. The family is requesting that everyone who attends, please wear a mask.
