Scott worked for Des Moines Public Schools as a Grounds Maintenance Mechanic for 28 years.
He enjoyed NASCAR, loved spending time with his family, and his cat, Charcoal. He was known for his quick and colorful sense of humor. He still holds the title as “The Funniest Man on the Eastside”.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 54 years, Pamela J. Osborn. His daughter Dina Osborn of Creston, son Britt Sr. (Melissa) Osborn of Ankeny, brother James (Pollyann) Osborn, 5 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son Scott Lee Osborn, Jr. (Scotty), father Hugh J. Osborn, mother Helen E. Osborn, brothers Steven J. Osborn and Jeffrey W. Osborn.
The visitation will be held Saturday, May 23rd from 12 pm to 3 pm at Iles Funeral Home Grandview Park Chapel located at 3211 Hubbell Ave Des Moines, Iowa 50317. No other services are planned.
Due to COVID-19, only 10 people will be allowed to pay their respects at a time. Masks are recommended.
Memorial contributions can be made to the family and flowers can be sent to the funeral home.
