Residence Lancaster County; 23 years-old.
Enlisted for 12 months' Service on 4/8/1861 at Lancaster Court House, Lancaster County, South Carolina, he traveled 180 miles to Charleston to be mustered into "A" Co. SC 9th Infantry as a Private.
Present, June - Aug 31,1861 thru Sept & Oct Rolls.
Hospitalized in Bird Island Hospital, South Richmond; died of pneumonia.
On 2/26/1862, his father, Moses C. Heath, filed a Settlement Claim.

The 9th South Carolina Infantry Regiment [also called Pee Dee Legion or Pee Dee Rifles] was formed during the spring of 1862 with men who had served in Nesbit's Battalion State Troops.
