Esther June Murray, age 86, passed away on May 16, 2020.
Born on the 22nd of February 1934 in Galion, Ohio, the 2nd child of Paul Raymond Phillips and Phelma Florence Phillips (nee Welker).
She is survived by her husband Jonathan McConnel Murray; dedicated loving mother of Susan Carol Kennedy (Mike) of St. Peters, MO, Phillip Daniel Murray (Karen) of St. Peters, MO and William Paul Murray of Hazelwood, MO; proud grandmother of Sarah Kennedy Hoyt (Charles), Daniel Patrick Kennedy, Benjamin Jonathan Kennedy, Jessica Lynn Murray and Matthew William Murray.
Esther is also the great-grandmother of Jaydon Hodges Kennedy, James Oliver Hoyt and Aaron Carlisle Hoyt; step-grandmother of Ethan Tyler Puglisi and Keegan Frederick Puglisi.
Dear sister of Pauline Shifley of Galion, Ohio; cousin of Herbert Lee Welker and Debora Welker of Shelby, Ohio.
Esther graduated from Galion High School and trained for three years at the Grant Hospital School of Nursing in Columbus, Ohio. She graduated in 1956 receiving certification as registered nurse. The same year she married Jonathan McConnel Murray of Rhinebeck, NY who was serving in the USAF at Columbus.
She diligently served the medical profession in her capacity as nurse for over 37 years in hospitals, physician's offices and the Public School system.
A Memorial Service 11:00 a.m. (date to be determined) will be held at Florissant Presbyterian Church. Inurnment at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
