COTTAGE HILLS — Laura E. Malson, 88, passed away at 12:28 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at her residence.

Born in Jerseyville on September 18, 1928, she was the daughter of James Clifton and Flossie Ellen (Michaels) Homer.

She had been and aide and house supervisor at Beverly Farms in Godfrey for 14 years before retiring.

Laura enjoyed her church and all those who were there; spending time with her grandchildren and just being able to have a happy life.

She married Harold Meyers and later, Edward Malson, both who have preceded her in death.

Surviving are a son, Grover Mayberry of Cottage Hills; three daughters, Norma (Steve) Meyer of Staunton, Brenda Shaw (Rick Osborne) of Bethalto, Vicky (John) German of Cottage Hills; stepdaughter, Beverly Antrobus of Bethalto; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; as well as a dear church friend, Marcella Copeland.

Preceding in death in addition to her parents and both husbands are, daughter, Barbara Stoner; great-great- granddaughter, Kasandra; half-brother, Frankie Homer; sisters, Hazel Kleeber, Leona McLain, Alice Guthrie; and half-sister, Donna Marie.

The love and support provided by all, especially Terry Homer and Karen Maserio, will be remembered always.

Visitation from 4-8 p.m. Friday, June 2, at Marks Mortuary in Wood River, where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 3.

Burial will be in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
