Bob was born August 31, 1955 in Kinsley, Kansas. He was a lifetime resident of the Riverton Kansas area.
Bob loved and served his Lord faithfully as the Pastor of the Parkhill Church of the Nazarene, Galena, KS for 24 years. His desire was to lead lost souls into God's kingdom. Bob was doubly devoted as a husband, father, son, brother, pastor and friend to anyone he came in contact with.
From early childhood until the end of his earthly life, Bob loved to raise cattle, working alongside his dad, brothers and family.
He was married to Nancy L. Fullerton May 9, 1980 in Sarcoxie, MO. She survives.
Additional survivors include two sons, James King (wife, Beth) Osawatomie, KS, and Matt King, Riverton, KS; his parents, Ivan and Betty (Mathes) King, Baxter Springs, KS; two brothers, Leon King, Columbus, KS and Larry King (wife, Belinda), Baxter Springs, KS; 4 sisters, Sondra Davis (husband, Bruce), Galena, KS, Barbara Murphy (husband, Wayne), Joplin MO, Kathy Cookery (husband, John) Joplin, MO, and Cheryl Campbell (husband, Brian) Riverton, KS; Aunt, Ruth King, Joplin, MO; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm, Monday, August 20, 2007 at Parkhill Church of the Nazarene, Galena, KS. Under the direction of Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena, KS. Pastors Rev. Jim Dillow, Rev. Jim Martin, and Rev. Clair Uitts will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery a.k.a. Shiloh Cemetery, north of Baxter Springs, KS.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Adams, Heath Barnett, Mike Barnett, Newley Barnett, Harold Haskins, Brett Warstler, Vern Warstler, and Dan Wooten. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tom Moore and Bill Price.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 pm, Sunday, August 19, 2007 at Parkhill Church of the Nazarene.
Memorial contributions may be made to Parkhill Church of the Nazarene in care of the funeral home.
