Chester W. Simcox March 18, 1911 -June 5, 1992 SOUTH BEND - Chester "Chet" Simcox, 81, of Sutherland Lane, died at 9:15 a.m. Friday in his home. He retired in 1979, after 40 years with Bendix Corp., where he worked in the production control department of the Aerospace Division. He was born March 18, 1911, in South Bend, and lived in the area all of his life. Surviving with his wife, Vera Garges, and a daughter, Gloria Joan Ricci Goldberg of South Bend; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Joan Slisz of South Bend; and a brother, Ralph of South Bend. He was a member of the Bendix Male Chorus, Ridgedale Presbyterian Church and UAW Local 9. Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in Ridgedale Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in Forest G. Hay Funeral Home, 435 S. Ironwood. Memorial contributions may be made to Camp Eberhart, 10300 Corey Drive, Three Rivers, Mich. 49093.
