Megan was born on June 19, 1994 at Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada. Her parents are Karl and Maureen Hicks. Megan was raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. She had one younger sister, Michelle Hicks. Even as a child, Megan had the ability to lift the spirits of all those around her. She was raised to be warm, caring and friendly. She couldn’t help but capture everyone’s attention. She was popular with her peers and everyone was drawn to her good natured spirit. Truly a wonderful person.

All of Megan's playful good humor carried over into her adulthood. She possessed an outgoing personality, a lively imagination and a mellowed enthusiasm for life that allowed her to be constantly on the go. As a result, Megan experienced a rather active childhood, and this suited her very well. She swam for the Red Rock Swim Club.

Ask anyone who knew her from school and they would tell you that Megan was “the best.” Megan simply enjoyed others’ laughter and the sounds of her friends and acquaintances having a good time. It could be said that for Megan, grades may not have been the most important thing to her, but she really did enjoy her school experience. Since experience was Megan's best teacher, she enjoyed hands-on learning. Megan graduated from Centennial High School in 2012. She enjoyed some courses more than others, having favorite classes and teachers. Her favorite class in high school was Physical Education. The teachers she enjoyed learning from the most was Shannon Alia and John Roberts.

Megan never actually encountered a stranger in her dealings with people. She was drawn to individuals and crowds, using her gregarious, adaptable and outgoing personality to captivate her audience. This quality allowed Megan to continually develop new relationships, ever widening her circle of friends. Whether it was a story, a joke, a song or just plain fooling around, Megan was always right at home goofing around with her friends. While growing up, some of her best friends were Jessica Sudjarit, Janelle Johnson, Elizabeth Kaylor, Allie Rossi, and Andrea Rossi. Later in life, she gained lifelong friendships with Ryne Belanger, and Cheyenne Birch. Megan loved sharing life and having her home filled with people she knew.

Perhaps the reason Megan related so well to children was the fact that she never really completely grew up herself. The ability to be just a “kid at heart” helped her in raising her daughter. Megan was blessed with one daughter, Mila Amora Hicks. Megan had the ability to focus her attention on the present moment. If she was spending time with Mila, that’s where all of her attention was directed. Megan's compassionate side prevented her from being a strict disciplinarian, and she could turn just about any situation into a playful, learning experience. She could spend hours entertaining Mila with fun and creative play.

At work, as in life, Megan was a real “people person.” She had a very successful way of dealing effectively with others, and her enthusiasm and energy was often contagious. Megan's talent for being a down to earth thinker, allowed many around her to see Megan as an excellent co-worker and friend. Her primary occupation was as a food server at BJ's Restaurant. She was employed there for the last three years.

Megan enjoyed her leisure time by being a devoted mother to her beautiful daughter Mila. She was a patient, kind, gentle, and caring mother. Megan's love for Mila was unconditional and she would have done anything for her. She was looking forward to watching Mila grow and was looking forward to all of the major events that come along with raising a child. Megan was excited to share their lives together.

Megan's parents have a deep appreciation for spiritual development, and recognized that faith was important to instill in their daughters life. In her younger years, Megan was baptized at Holy Family Catholic Church.

Megan loved to travel and to visit new and different places. She was naturally curious about other parts of the world and loved the real life adventure that came from visiting them. She was impulsive and willing to try anything once. As a young child, Megan loved going to the beach. One of her fondest memories was taking Mila to the beach for the day. As she grew older, she liked traveling to different places with friends.

Megan was a lover of animals and cherished her pets, enjoying them almost as much as she enjoyed being around other people. She had a cat named Dash and a dog named Cierra. She was the best of friends with Dash for three years and with Cierra for fourteen years.

Megan passed away on March 7, 2018 at UMC Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada. Megan tragically lost her life in an automobile accident. She is survived by her daughter Mila who is two years old, her parents, Karl and Maureen Hicks, and her sister Michelle Hicks. Her memory will be cherished by her extended family and her many friends. Services were held at Palm Northwest Mortuary in Las Vegas, Nevada. Megan was laid to rest in Palm Northwest Cemetery in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Megan brought joy to all of those around her. She never had a mean bone in her body. She loved to have a good time and was an eternal optimist, always looking on the bright side of things. She loved to share her energy, wit, and her zest for all of her activities with her friends and family. Megan Hicks lived life to its fullest and made everyone around her happier just for knowing her. She will be remembered with a smile.
