Carrie was born in Warrenton, North Carolina. She was the daughter of the late John Willis Carroll and Nannie Fleming Carroll. One of twelve children, she was preceded in death by eleven brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her two children, Charles W. Young III (Cheryl) of Lexington, SC, and Linda Young McLees (Kevin) of Anderson, SC. Also surviving are five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Her grandchildren are Matthew McLees (Jessica) of Greenville, SC; Emi Young of Brooklyn, NY; Casey McLees of Anderson, SC; Mandi Hyslop (Jeff) of Evans, GA; and Megan McLees of Asheville, NC.
Carrie worked for General Electric (later North American Phillips) in Irmo, SC for over 35 years. She was a member of St. Andrews Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the Sanctuary Choir. She was also a member of the American Business Women’s Association.
Funeral arrangements have been provided by Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. There will be a private burial at Elmwood Cemetery.
