She was born March 27, 1901, in Edwards County; the daughter of Joel Joseph and Susie (Biggers) Reid. She married Harold Shepherd on Sept. 16, 1922; he died Jan. 29, 1980.
She is survived by two sons, Glenn of Albion and Terry of Carbondale; one sister, Emily Shelby of West Salem; two half-sisters, Virginia Maxwell of Grayville and Dora Fieber of Miami, Fla.; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were one half-brother, Joe Tribe and two half-sisters, Julia Tribe and Ellen, who died in infancy. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday from Ingram Funeral Home in Albion with burial in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
