Michael Jay Hess, age 63, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2020, at the home of his sister, Margaret, in Gore, Va.
Born April 26, 1957, in Hancock, Md., he was the son of the late William Howard “Bubber” Hess, Sr. and Maud Virginia (Brannon) Hess.
He was a graduate of Hancock High School; and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He is survived by one daughter, Ciara Marie Hess, of Ocean City, Md.; and one son, Shawn John Hess, of Taneytown, Md.; two sisters, Emeline Virginia Golden, and Margaret Fay “Maggie” Kump; and three brothers, Joseph Levi Hess, Samuel Coe Hess, and Edward Bruce Hess.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Deborah Ann Ray; and five brothers, William Howard Hess, Jr., Franklin Herbert Hess, John Kenneth Hess, Robert Lee Hess, Richard A. “Dick” Hess, and David Beard Hess.
A private graveside service will be held at the Orchard Ridge First Church of God with Rev. Jeffrey Hawbaker officiating.
