The inquest into the death of Martin Barry states that he was admitted to the Ararat Lunatic Asylum on 8th March and died on the 10th April. An inquest was conducted on the 12th and he was buried on the 14th April.
His cause of death was listed as Disease of the Brain and Erysipelas.
Funeral notice:
The Friends of the late Mr MARTIN BARRY recently of Bungaree, are respectfully invited to follow his remains to the place of interment, the Ballarat Old Cemetery. The Funeral cortege to move from No. 7 Dawson Street opposite St Patrick's Cathedral, This Day, Saturday, 14th April, at 12 o'clock.
