Lester G. “Les” Hall, 67, of Swanzey, NH, died peacefully Monday, June 11, 2018 in Cheshire Medical Center of Keene, NH, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Gardner on June 15, 1950, he was the son of the late Lester W. and Margaret (Johnson) Hall.
Lester graduated from Gardner High School with the Class of 1968. He earned his Associates Degree in Business from Mount Wachusett Community College of Gardner in 1982, and his Bachelors Degree in Business from Fitchburg State in 1983.
Prior to retiring, Les was a Program Director for Vinfen Corporation where he worked with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
He enjoyed reading and was a fan of Steven King. Les loved classic cars and was a huge fan of the Boston Red Sox. He loved his little buddies, his dogs “Rider” and “Dickens”. In his younger years he enjoyed playing in the Men’s Softball League in Gardner. He was a gun enthusiast and was a member of the National Rifle Association. Les enjoyed spending time at the family camp in York, Maine, loved spoiling his grandchildren and treasured spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his extremely witty personality and amazing story telling abilities.
Les leaves his wife and best friend of 32 years, Michelle T. Bettez; one son, Joshua W. Hall and his wife Melissa of Gardner; three daughters, Jessica A. Hall and and her husband Mark D. Bowers of Gardner, Melanie L. Matthews and her husband Dylan, and Robin L. Hall of Ware, MA; nine grandchildren, Kelsey Dilling, Sarah Dilling, Amelia Matthews, Keira Matthews, Cooper Hall, Cecilia Hall, Nicholas Voyer, Zachary LeBlanc and Kylie Hedges; niece, Alyssa Aveni and nephew, Nicholas Aveni.
Calling hours will be held Monday, June 18th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner.
There are no funeral services scheduled. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
