Mr. Benjamin Jackson Miller, Jr., 72, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, formerly of Selma, Alabama, passed away on May 13, 2020 at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was born in Selma, Alabama on May 12, 1948, to the late Benjamin Jackson Miller, Sr. and Christine Ross Miller.

He was baptized as a young child at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, attended St. Elizabeth Elementary School and graduated from R. B. Hudson High School in 1967. He followed his dream of driving race cars and became an auto mechanic, working in this trade until he was drafted into the Armed Services in 1968. Because of his brave service to our country, he was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal w/4 Bronze Service Stars; National Defense Service Medal; Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal; Combat Infantryman Badge; Marksman (M-60MG) and Marksman (Rifle).

Benjamin enjoyed the simple pleasures of life: visiting with family, listening to music from the 60’s and 70’s, taking leisurely long rides in the car, trips to McDonald’s for a hamburger, french fries, and ice cream, topped off with a nice cold beer and a cigarette.

He leaves to cherish his memory: three sisters, Audrey Miller Smith of Selma, Al, Brendolyn Miller McKenna of New Orleans, La, Evelyn Wilson of Dayton, Ohio, two brothers, Melvin Miller (Tynarmia) and Randall Miller (Betty) of Selma, Al, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Benjamin, Jr. was preceded in death by his mother and father, Christine Ross Miller and Benjamin Jackson Miller, Sr., sisters, Christine A. Miller, Iris Bernice Miller, brother, Louis Douglas Miller and niece Lori Renee Miller.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 15, 2020 from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM at Randall Miller Funeral Service, 608 St. Phillips Street, Selma, Alabama.

Graveside Services for Mr. Benjamin Miller, Jr. will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Serenity Memory Gardens, 4660 Water Avenue, Selma, Alabama.
