Catherine Ann Hughes was born on July 12, 1939 in St. Louis, Missouri, daughter of Harry Bugg & Loretta (Imhoff) Bugg. She grew up in St. Louis and attended school there. On September 10, 1960, Caye married Dale Hughes in Salem, MO.

Caye accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior on October 31, 1965 at West Page Baptist Church. She was active in the Baptist denomination for 55 years, and was a member of 1st Baptist of Kimberling City for the last 22 years. She was the hands and feet of Jesus on several U.S. mission trips helping build churches with the Kingdom Builders, and using her seamstress talents to sew clothing for children in Haiti. She also worked with Options Pregnancy.

Caye was a loving, giving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a farmer’s wife which meant she worked beside Dale helping with hay and cattle whenever he needed. She was very artistic and enjoyed painting as well as crocheting and knitting. She not only sewed for different needs at church but made many of her daughter, Sherri’s clothes growing up. Caye also worked outside the home as a real estate broker and had helped many buyers and sellers through the years. She and Dale moved to Lampe twenty-two years ago from Salem.

Caye entered into rest on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at Cox Medical Center Branson at the age of 80.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry & Loretta.
