John Lawrence Faulkner, age 72 of Marietta, GA, went home to be with his Lord and Savior May 12, 2020. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Denise Faulkner; son Shane (Letitia) Faulkner; and daughter Tara Faulkner. He is also survived by granddaughters Raelin and Collins and three nephews and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

John was born July 25, 1947, at Marietta Hospital, in Marietta, GA. He attended the original Sprayberry High School on Cobb Parkway. In high school, he played as a self-taught bassist for a few bands, most notably, the Misfits S/E. In 1969, John gave his life to Jesus Christ, and was forever changed. He married Denise Ray in September 1969. Leaving behind his band days, he devoted his life to the Lord and to his family. John and Denise had their first child Shane (Son) in July 1971. They had their second child Tara (Daughter) in February, 1976.

John worked at Melton's Electronics, in Duluth, GA, for a time, but ultimately took over his father's business, Drive Shaft Services approximately forty years ago 1980. He worked tirelessly so that his wife could remain home with their children. They attended First Evangelical Methodist Church of Marietta which his father-in-law Frank H. Ray built and pastored until 1983 when Rev. Ray retired. In 1984, they began attending Marietta Alliance Church, in Marietta, GA, until his passing. John served in many roles at the church... wherever and however he was needed. The word "Servant" would most likely be the the most-encompassing description of John, as there was never any task too lowly, for which he would not readily volunteer. He was quick to serve others in whatever capacity was needed.

He was a committed and devoted husband, loving and gracious daddy, and daddy-in-law, and a doting "Mandaddy". There was absolutely nothing he would not do for his family. He exemplified Christ and genuinely reflected the Lord in his daily life. He relentlessly gave of himself and whatever he had to whomever needed it and did so without complaint and absolutely no expectation of retribution nor reciprocation.

John's goal was never fame, fortune, or earthly treasure. His goals were to love the Lord his God with all his heart, soul, mind, body, and strength; love his family; and love others... which is exactly what he did, until the Lord called him home.
