Dr. George W. Ball, 79, passed away peacefully Monday morning, May 11, 2020, at his home in Wayland, NY, with his family by his side.
He was born in Warren, PA, on April 3, 1941, to the late Dr. William and Dorothy Ball.
George was a 1959 graduate of Warren high school and a 1963 graduate of Union College. He earned a Ph.D. in Mathematics from Syracuse University in 1972 and an M.S. in Computer Science from RIT in 1987. He was a Professor of Mathematics and Computer Science at Alfred University for 38 years,
He is survived by two sons: Christopher (Mary Kay) Ball of Dansville, NY, and Timothy (Kristine) Ball of Fairport, NY, 6 stepchildren, 21 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Edward (Donna) Ball, and a sister, Dorothy (Oran) Stewart, both of Warren.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Sandra Shirk Ball, and Rita Burns Learn Ball.
