Kathy James was born May 9th, 1960 in Canadian, Texas to Jack Gill and Roberta (Sutton) Cannon. She passed away in her home surrounded by her family April 18th, 2020 at the age of 59 years, 11 months and 9 days.
Kathy grew up in Canadian and later moved to Mobeetie, Texas in 1977. She was married to Billy Ray James, Jr. on April 27, 1979 in Wheeler, Texas. They made their home in the Mobeetie, Texas area for 21 years until 1998 when they moved to Elk City where they've remained ever since. Throughout Kathy's life she was employed and did everything from home healthcare, small business owner, retail and circulation manager of a newspaper. Throughout her life she was employed and always did her job to the fullest of her abilities. She also enjoyed sewing, loving and caring for her animals and especially her cats but her passion in life was loving, caring and giving to her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Cassie James and 3 brothers, Dennis Gill, Stan Yarber and Lance Yarber.
Kathy is survived by her husband, Billy, of the home; 2 children, Jamey James Walding and husband, Daron, Iola, Tx and Cody James and wife, Niki, Sayre, OK; 3 grandchildren, Harper James, Dairy Walding and Slade Walding; 3 great grandchildren, TinzLee Parkey, KinZee Parkey and Kilan Walding; her parents, Jack Gill and Roberta Cannon; her father-in-law, Bill James; Sister, Sandra Trout and husband, Lonnie; 1 brother, Rhoan Gill and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family has planned a memorial service at the James residence Friday, April 24, 2020 at 6:00 P.M. Arrangements are under the direction of Chris Whinery and the staff of Affordable Cremation Service-West and condolences can be made online at www.classicfunerals.com
