Elsie Mae Brown, 90, of Chattanooga, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2020, in a local health care facility.
She was a member of New Emmanuel Baptist Church where she sang in the choir.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Baxter Brown, Jr., and parents, Willie and Vennie Cole.
Survivors include her devoted sister-in-law and caregiver, Joyce Fears; step-daughter, Daphne Nance; two grandchildren; brother, Arthur (Erma) Cole; sisters, Geraldine Strickland, Dorothy Silmon, and Louise Gaines; special niece, Donna Cole; loving and supportive sister-in-law, Delores Dominick; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends.
Elsie will lie in state on Monday, May 18, from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.
A family graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. in Forest Hills Cemetery with Pastor Terrance Hannah as the eulogist.
