He was a son of the late Dale and Evelyn Shepard Ramsey, born to them on August 26, 1930 in Piney Flats, Tennessee.
Paul proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a farmer at heart, but worked for Eastman Chemical Company for 33 years before retiring. He was an avid football fan, and greatly enjoyed the Tennessee Vols, golfing and car racing. And a day was never complete unless he finished his crossword and Sudoku puzzle in the daily newspaper.
Along with his parents, Paul is preceded in death by a brother, Robert Ramsey and a sister, Ruth Curtis.
Paul is survived by his children: Anita Floyd, Denny Ramsey (Susie) and Debbie King (Bob); a sister: Jean Honeycutt (Bill); four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff at the VA Medical Center for their wonderful care they provided.
Due to the recent health concerns, a private service to commemorate the life of Paul Stewart Ramsey will be conducted in the Mountain Home National Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest.
