Betty Ann, was born in Avoca Iowa, her parents Frank Albert Maassen and Vera Alice Schwinderman Maassen, both of Lewis, Avoca, and Oakland Iowa.
Betty Ann had one brother Frank A. Maassen, who lives in Nebraska, two sisters Barbara Lee Smith, lives in Arkansas, and Vaneeta Mae Nigro lives in Nebraska.
Betty has 3 children: Cindy Lea Hecht, Wendy L. Hecht-Bohner M.D., Baltimore Maryland, Charles D. Hecht, Dallas Texas.
Grandchildren: Amber Walters of Washington state and Justin Bohner, of Baltimore md.

Betty worked for government in Kitsap county PSNS Bremerton, and Bangor sub base 1980 to 1999.

at age 18 went to a secretarial school in Omaha Nebr. and met and married Carlos 'Chuck' Hecht, in Omaha Nebr., January 31, 1959. Betty and her husband Chuck moved to St. Paul Minnesota, 1967 and then to Globe Arizona 1969. Then Betty and Chuck both moved to Bremerton WA with their 3 kids to work for PSNS Puget Sound Naval Shipyard 1971.
Betty married her 2nd husband Robert Hanson, April 4, 1981, in Port Orchard WA, and by then they both were working for PSNS in Bremerton WA, and later they both transferred to Bangor Trident Base a Naval submarine base also in Kitsap county Silverdale WA.
Betty and Robert Hanson retired and moved to Pflugerville Texas near Austin Texas in 2010.
