Cassondra Michelle Wilson, 45, resident of Columbus, Indiana, passed from this life Friday, May 8, 2020 in Columbus.
Cassondra was born November 27, 1974, in Columbus, Indiana, the loving daughter of Mike and Brenda Lucas Harris.
Cassondra was the Chief Executive Officer and founder of TrainerConnect in Columbus, a company providing in-depth training opportunities for companies including Cummins, Inc and other large manufacturing facilities and healthcare organizations. Cassondra was appointed by the Indiana Governor as a member of the Minority Business Council for the state of Indiana, serving as its commissioner for southern Indiana. Cassondra was an active member of the Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce and served on the Board of Directors at Just Friends Adult Daycare.
She was a contributor to Hotels for Homeless in Bloomington and other various organizations and causes.
Cassondra was a fun-loving mother and was passionate about the future of her children as well as people in the community. Cassondra devoted her life to helping people reach their full potential.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, Jaden Wilson, Cameron Wilson and Sydney Wilson all of Columbus; her parents, Mike and Brenda Harris of Columbus; sisters, Andrea (Wunmi) Atewologun of Montclair, New Jersey, Raegan (Broderick) Guy of Columbus, Sharon (Royce Jr.) Evans of Rocky Mount, North Carolina and Nicole (Andre) Wallace of Louisville, Kentucky; brothers, J.D. Mills of Columbus and Brian Harris of Columbus; aunts and uncles, Forrest and Charlotte Lucas of Carmel, Carol and Larry Cummins of Columbus, Connie Schooler of Phoenix, Arizona, Deborah (Michael) Oliver of Freetown, Gary “Pat” Harris of Columbus, Sidney Harris of Columbus, Freda (Pete) Ford of Louisville, Kentucky and Teresa Harris of Louisville, Kentucky; and nieces and nephews, Imani, Amira, Camry and Shalonda Guy, Corsen and Kayode Atewologun and Sonora Mullins.
Cassondra was preceded in death by her grandparents, Raymond and Marie Lucas and Fred and Wilma Harris and her cousins, Jessica Salas, Clarissa Russell and Greg Lucas.
Private visitation will be held at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home. A private funeral service will be held at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church; the Reverends Mark Teike and Frank Griffin will officiate.
