Grandson of Major Edward Burleson. Great-grandson of General Edward Burleson.

A Lieutenant during World War I, he was severely gassed during the Battle of Montdidier.

Larned. George B. MacDonnell, 73, died this morning in St. Joseph Hospital, Larned. Born September 16, 1894 in Austin, Texas, he married Donna Crane June 7, 1919 in Texas. They lived in Texas for eight years before coming to Larned in 1927. He was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and American Legion, both of Larned and was a veteran of World War I.

He is survived by the widow; one daughter, Mrs. Bill Vernon, Santa Fe, New Mexico; one sister, Mrs. Charles McDonald, La Jolla, California and one grandson. Funeral services will be at 2:30PM Saturday at the Vernon Funeral Home in Larned with Senator Glee S. Smith Jr., officiating. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery.
