Funeral service for Gloria LaRene (Napier) Montgomery, age 90, of Ewing, Neb., will be held on Monday, May 18, 2020 at 10:30 am at United Methodist Presbyterian Church in Ewing with Pastor Mike Durre, officiating. Burial will be in Ewing City Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Sunday, May, 17, 2020 at Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Clearwater.

Gloria passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at Arbor Care Nursing Center in O’Neill, NE with her family by her side. y.

Gloria LaRene (Napier) Montgomery was born on December 5, 1929, to Floyd and Grace (Weber) Napier at Neligh, Neb, the last of four children. She grew up east of Ewing and attended Ewing High School. She graduated in 1947.

She met Lorraine Montgomery while in high school, and they were united in marriage on April 5, 1950 in Yankton, SD. To this union there were 8 children born.

She was an extraordinary woman. She made many of her own clothes and clothes for her family. She passed on many of her great qualities to her children. She was devoted to family and had great patience for her family. She attended many activities of her children and grandchildren. Her extraordinary patience for her children and their various 4-H projects. She loved visiting with friends and family. She always ready with a smile and kind word. In her spare time she was head cook at Ewing Public School for 31 years.

Preceded in death by her parents; husband Lorraine; daughter Connie; infant daughter Lori Jo; son-in-law Alvie Watson; step-grandsons Shaun Strong and Danny Watson; brothers Melvin and Dale Napier; sister Marilyn Fry.

Survived by her sons Larry (Deborah) Montgomery of Ewing, NE and Gary (Viola) Montgomery of Lincolnton, NC; daughters: Linda Montgomery of Ewing, NE; Deb Watson of Ewing, NE; Kathy (John) Wilson of Scottsbluff, NE; Amy (Kevin) Horst of Gretna, NE; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step grandchildren, step great-grandchildren, and step great-great-grandchildren.
