Rachel Leah Butler Rogers, 63, of Elkhorn, Ky., formerly of Natrona Heights, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2012. Born May 30, 1948, in Buffalo, N.Y., she was the daughter of Jesse Lee Butler Sr. and Nellie Hodge Butler. She graduated in 1966 from Ken High School and enlisted in the Army. She was a New Kensington resident most of her life. She attended the Salvation Army and enjoyed traveling, reading, socializing and puzzles. Survivors include her husband, Michael Rogers, of Elkhorn, Ky.; daughter, Andrea Butler, of Brooklyn, N.Y.; siblings, Martha Butler, of Arnold, Jesse (Barbara) Butler, of Cleveland, Ohio, Mary (Joseph) Hollis, of Plum Borough, John (Kathy) Butler, of Westfield, N.J., Moses Butler, of Los Angeles, Calif., Priscilla (Osie) Taylor, of New Kensington, and Joyce (James) McIntyre, of Cleveland, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse Butler Sr., of Pittsburgh, and Nellie Butler, of New Kensington. Funeral service was held in Elkhorn, Ky. A private memorial will be held in New Kensington at a future date.
